cup for straw cup for straw

cup made from unrefined austrian stoneware clay with green engobe.
clear glaze only on the interior. unglazed, but polished, exterior

the idea was to create a vessel with a small rim diameter,
so it would be possible to drink from it, but more comfortable to use with a straw.
shape-wise, it is borrowing from single-use indian earthenware
lassi tumblers, especially from the jaipur region of rajasthan.
the customers, a young couple with roots in the indian community in fiji,
placed it near a colour-matching writing board with magically disappearing ink
and volunteered to draw an original design
