copper cup copper cup

a cup made from austrian stoneware clay,
with a glaze made from reed ash, iron ore and various other metallic oxides.
on top of the glaze, a copper overglaze has been applied

the shape of this cup has an affinity to the zoroastrian fire bowl
that is used to keep the eternal flame, worshipped in parsi temples.
appropriately the piece underwent a threefold baptizing of the flames,
a bisque, glaze and overglaze firing, all at different temperatures.
when I called, the customer prepared a mouthwatering snack to show
how she would match and use the cup
